Live update: March 3rd 2014, Keynote with Bill Clinton SharePoint Conference Las Vegas

After our collective breakfast this morning, everyone went to the ballroom to see the keynote.

The internet connection is poor here so it is not possible to upload or share live updates during the sessios.

This means, I will try to blog all the events I have attended by the end of today.

The keynote takes place and Bill Clinton is one of the guest speaker. Besides him, ofcourse Jeff Teper and Jared Spataro will be doing the keynote as well

Jared spataro kicks off and tells that over 10.000 attendees are present.  There has been a 500 %   growth  of cloud users.

With Office 365 a revenue has been generated of 1,5 billion dollar and it is still growing. 60 % FORTUNSE of 500 companies is using Office 365. Jared tells that Technology is changing the world and if we do not go along, you will be left behind.
He introduces mister president Bill Clinton who is leading the Clinton Foundation.

Because of their work, 20,000 American schools are providing kids with healthy food choices in an effort to eradicate childhood obesity; 21,000 African farmers have improved their crops to feed 30,000 people; 248 million tons of greenhouse gas emissions are being reduced in cities worldwide; $20 million is being invested in small- and medium-sized businesses in Colombia; more than 6.8 million people have benefited from lifesaving HIV/AIDS medications; and members of the Clinton Global Initiative have made more than 2,800 Commitments to Action to improve more than 430 million lives around the world.

President Bill Clinton kicks off by telling that Microsoft has been helping the Clinton Foundation on 36 commitments the last years. He tells that technology is changing the world. Thanks to Microsoft the CLINTON FOUNDATION is able to help out those who are in need in the world. People who are living in poverty and has a low income and are not able to carry out their dreams such education.

He thinks that there are the following major challenges in modern world :

  • Market economics—> lot of people moved out of poverty, but there is still a lot of poverty and ungrowth;
  • Worldwide instability,
  •  Billion people are still earning 2 dollar a day and 2,5 billion people do not have access to sanitary facilities.

Nowadays, income today is lower than in the year of 2001.

Bill Clinton ends his speech by saying we need to think about the world and environment and what we can do about the things that are going on in the world.

New video office 365 portal based on Windows Azure. You can create a special video portal which you can use to collect and share all streaming video’s. On the video you can also see yammer conversations. This is very innovative. This also works with I-PAD AND SAFARI.

Allereerst Happy Valentine voor jullie allemaal! 14/2/14 . Hoe bijzonder klinkt dit:-) .

Wat ook heel bijzonder is de komende SharePoint Conference 2014 in Las Vegas .

Zoals velen wellicht al weten, vindt de SharePoint Conference 2014 plaats over 2 weken en zal ik  namens mijn consultancy organisatie JCC Consultancy gaan deelnemen aan dit event .

Event gaat niet alleen over SharePoint

Een ding dient duidelijk gemaakt te worden voor diegenen die niet naar dit event gaan. Hoewel het evenement  SharePoint Conference wordt genoemd, zijn de thema’s en sessies niet alleen SharePoint gerelateerd.

Dit jaar zal naast SharePoint, ook onderwerpen gepresenteerd worden op het gebied van Cloud, Big Data en mobiliteit.

Dus er zijn zeer vele onderwerpen die interessant zullen zijn voor iedereen. Ga naar 100 redenen waarom een eigenaar of directeur van een Microsoft Unmanaged MKB partner dit evenement eigenlijk niet mag missen.

Maar goed, laten we maar beginnen:
Dit jaar zal het SPC 2014 evenement zeer interessant zijn vanwege 4 belangrijke redenen :

Afgelopen december vorig jaar en januari 2014 , heeft JCC Consultancy een survey gehouden onder 500 executives / Eigenaren van Microsoft unmanged MKB Partners in Nederland en een van de gestelde vragen was :

 Gaat u de SPC 2014 -conferentie bij te wonen ? En zo niet , waarom niet ?
90 % antwoordde : ” Nee , ik zal niet aanwezig zijn op de SPC 2014 -conferentie , maar ik wil op de hoogte blijven van de laatste ontwikkelingen en updates tijdens de SPC conferentie ” .

Deze uitslag was een eye-opener voor ons, maar ook een zeer interessante kans voor JCC Consultancy, omdat deze cijfers laten zien dat de meeste van de aanwezigen op de SharePoint- conferentie meestal Microsoft Managed Partners en niet –Unmanaged MKB Partners.
